Jake and Judy are so excited that it’s March! So many things are happening this month and they want to remind you how important it is to take good care of your teeth. Don’t rely on the “Luck of the Irish” to prevent tooth decay, and practice these healthy-teeth tips!
Did you know that March is National Nutrition Awareness Month? It’s a good time to focus on healthy snacks that make and keep our teeth strong and prevent tooth decay. Many fresh fruits and vegetables are coming into season and just by walking through the produce section at your local grocery store you and your kids will see a variety of tasty and healthy items. Jake and Judy remind you to “Eat across the Rainbow”. For a healthy after school snack, try making fun veggie snacks with dips, and desserts that are as tasty as they are pretty with fruits make to look like flowers or animals. It’s one time you won’t mind if they play with their food!
In March we “Spring Forward” and enter Daylight Savings Time. When we set our clocks forward one hour, it usually takes our family a week to get used to the new time change and our body clocks need to adjust. We all lose an hour of sleep that first night. But Jake and Judy want to remind you that despite this change in our routine, you and your children shouldn’t “rush the brush” and need to brush their teeth at least two times every day for two minutes.
The Easter bunny is coming this March and many kids will find baskets of sugary treats waiting for them in the morning. Instead of candy, why not give your child a kite, bubbles or sidewalk chalk? These are great ways to get kids outside and enjoy this wonderful weather we have been blessed with.
