Jake and Judy celebrate National Tooth Fairy Day | Kids Toothbrush Club

February is National Children’s Dental Health Month­­, so it’s only appropriate that February 28th is National Tooth Fairy Day. In honor of National Tooth Fairy Day, Jake and Judy are answering kids’ mail about the Tooth Fairy.
Susie: Who is the Tooth Fairy?
Jake and Judy: Legend has it that when children lost their teeth, they would bury them in the ground to try to “grow” new teeth. As time went by, children soon “buried” the teeth they lost under their pillow and the Tooth Fairy began to collect these teeth and replace them with a token or a treat to thank the children.
Billy: Where does the Tooth Fairy live?
Jake and Judy: The Tooth Fairy lives in the magical land of Toothlandia. It’s a beautiful, wondrous place with winding paths of dental floss, flowing rivers of mouthwash, and tall shady toothbrush trees.
Jennifer:  What does the Tooth Fairy do with my teeth?
Jake and Judy: The Tooth Fairy uses all of the teeth that she collects and sends them up into the sky to create new sparkling stars. If you squint hard enough, on a clear night, in the eastern sky, you can probably see the first tooth you lost!
Tommy: What if I lost a tooth and can’t find it?
Jake and Judy: The Tooth Fairy can find all of the teeth that children lose and can still make stars out of them. If you have lost a tooth and can’t find it, leave a note under your pillow and she will still leave you a token to thank you.
Most children lose their first tooth around age 5-7, and it’s just as important to take care of your baby teeth as your new teeth. Brushing your teeth also makes sure that you have healthy gums that will support your new teeth that come in after your baby teeth fall out. Make sure to brush at least three times a day and put your star stickers on your Kids Toothbrush Club chart every day. “Because every child deserves a healthy smile.”­­­
